Perry Rotary Teams up with Radio Station WPRY and Citizens Bank of Perry

A fantastic blood drive was held in Perry, Florida, on August 6, with 58 people registered, of whom 44 were able to donate. WPRY radio station broadcasted a live remote, provided coupons for free admission to the movies, and free Subway sandwiches. Rotary and the folks at Citizens Bank of Perry were very pleased with the blood drive. This is the second summer that the Rotary Club of Perry has organized a community blood drive. The Officers of Citizen's Bank provided their parking lot and a great chairperson, Mary Ann Walker, Administrative Assistant to Roger Brooks, president of the bank.

Donors were members of Rotary, employees of Citizen's Bank, and community people who either signed up or heard about it via newspaper and radio announcements in Perry. Diane Ching, a 2 gallon blood donor, Rotary Club member and organizer of the Perry Community, was on hand to promote the blood drive on the radio and to donate blood. It was a beautiful and hot the day of the drive and the good community spirit of the people of Perry was evident in their willingness to come out to the bloodmobile.

Thanks to Citizens Bank of Perry for hosting the blood drive!
