Four hours after Cayla was born, she was diagnosed with pneumonia and received two units of blood. Cayla's illness was caused by beta strep, a condition contracted during labor and delivery. It is preventable if pregnant women are tested. "Our little angel is with us today and healthy because two kind, generous people donated blood.
